Q time..

What is your favorite toy?I don't know if a book counts as a toy but it certainly is fun for me! This is my new favorite series-- Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I'm currently on book 4 out of the 5 in the series and I am seriously having so much fun reading them all! It is about a boy who finds out the Greek Gods still exist and that he is half human, half god. very cool. it is a very easy and entertaining read. I highly recommend it. If some of you out there have seen the movie but not read the books, the movie is SOOO different from the book. and I'm not talking just a few minor details, I'm saying they changed A LOT throughout the entire plotline. it was entertaining but quite frankly, I prefer the book. It has many more interesting details and twists that they leave out of the movie. So if you are looking for a lighthearted summer read, go for this. It is a great escape. (also suitable for kids of all ages, no bad language or anything)

Last Choir Concert EVER

So this past weekend was our last choir concert in the BYU Concert Choir. We have been in it for the past 3 years and have both had so much fun! We aren't going to be in it anymore because I am done with school and Sam really wants to focus on getting good grades in his science classes these next few semesters. I know we are both going to miss it so much. We have come to know everyone really well, especially Sister Hall, our conductor. She is truly amazing and has taught us so much about life, love, and music. We have also made many great friends and have so many good memories of singing with them. Anywho, here are a few pics from the event...

Snowboarding!

Last week, a bunch of Sam's family came into town to visit so we got to see them all. Many of our evenings were spent at Joe's house playing games and visiting. And on Saturday, we headed up to Brighton for a day of snowboarding! We seriously had so much fun! I can proudly say that I am now doing complete 'S' turns successfully! Haha, took me long enough.. Sam has only done it a couple times and is already pretty awesome at it. someday when we have more money, we will be sure to buy all our own gear and get season passes every winter. Then I will be able to get better. Anyways, here are the few pics that I got that day. I wanted to take my camera up to get videos but I really didnt want to break it so I decided it would be better to leave it in the car.

Sam, Matt, Sarra, and Steve... waiting for everyone else to get there:
Sam got to use Jeff's awesome board and I borrowed my good friend Christa's board. Thanks Christa! btw- I looove the neon pink!!
Right after lunch-- Me, Sam, and Jessie... about to head up the mountain for more:
haha i think i liked the bottom of our boards more than the tops:

my age....

What is the worst thing about being your age?
I am just a few weeks away from being 23 years old. I think the worst thing about this age is the fact that people still mistake me for an 18 or 19 year old freshman on campus haha... when in fact, i am in my 5th year of being here at byu. crazy...I'm sure one day I will be grateful for my youthful look but as for right now, its still sort of annoying to be mistaken for a teenager lol.

What is the best thing about being your age?
I actually can't wait to be 23. I feel like 22 still sounds so young.. whereas 23 just sounds more mature, more respectable haha... I feel a great thing about this age is I still have life ahead of me. It is right after being viewed as too young and before the older, more responsible years of my life.

favorite place to visit...

Q: What is your favorite place to visit?
A: I would have to say aside from visiting family down in Texas, my favorite place to visit is Lake Powell. I'm sure ya'll have heard me say just how amazing it is but seriously, its one of mine and sam's favorite places on earth. Every time we go, we always have sooo much fun and never want to leave. we both love the summer, boating, and the water. beaches, pools, lakes, etc.. if its anything water, we are there. so Lake Powell is perfect for us! It is so BEAUTIFUL with its red canyons and blue water, which is actually pretty warm. Plus there is so much to do there.. even if we werent able to go with a boat or jetskis, it would still be a blast to just go to camp, hike, kayak, swim, go cliff jumping, and plenty more...

I think it would interesting to hear your favorite places to visit! i tag whoever wants to do this! :)

journal jar q's

So my friend has been doing this thing on her blog where everyday, she picks a little question from this Journal Jar she has then answers it on her blog. She said she would love it if we ever wanted to do some of them with her... anywho, some of the questions have been pretty fun so i decided i would answer a few every now and again...

What do you like to do on cloudy days?
A: I usually have to go to school most days but when its cloudy, i make sure to wear a scarf, jacket, and good shoes because it usually means there is big potential for snow. haha... if we dont have to go to school on a cloudy day, it usually turns out to be a nice relaxing lazy day watching our favorite shows or movies.

What is your favorite sport?
A: For watching? definitely football. I love watching college football and recently started liking pro football too. for playing, that is a different story. I would have to say my favorite is wakeboarding. I would say snowboarding but i actually still kinda suck at it haha (plus its cold!)... I'm not very good at wakeboarding yet either but i think its sooo fun! I love water sports, boating, and summertime so its the perfect combination for me.

we had 3 kids for a week!

Sam's bro Joe and his wife Emily recently moved up here to utah. Last week, only a week or two after moving in, Joe and Emily left for a cruise that they had booked months ago..... leaving their 3 kids in our hands (along with Emily's bro Owen and wife Alyssa). We would watch them at night from around dinner time, til they left for school the next morning, then Owen and Alyssa would take Nate (the 3 year old) during the day, and also watch the kids after they got home from school til we were done with our classes. It was sort of a complicated schedule but it worked out great. and some may say "well i bet that was good birth control for yall...." LOL but the truth is these kids were great!!! aside from them waking us up around 6am every morning, we had a lot of fun. it was also fun to visit with Owen and Alyssa and get to know them a little better when we would trade off. Anywho, the only pics i got were of when we took the kids ice skating down in provo on Saturday afternoon. we seriously had a blast!

this is sam chasing down nate (the 3 year old). they gave him this walker thing to help him from falling. in the beginning it was pretty tough for him to stay on his feet but this was about an hour later. he was totally speeding across the ice! by the end of the day, he was skating by himself. this kid is such a fast learner! i am pretty sure he gets his daredevil fearlessness from his mom haha.. aaron, the 8 year old is in the white and red shirt. both boys are serious speed demons! its hilarious.charity, the 6 year old. she is so cute!
blurry....
steve, sarra, and the girls came too! it was fun!the kiddos posing for a quick pic
train.... they were hilarious.

California- where the silly faces are :D

Sam and I really took advantage of our 3 day weekend last week and headed out to Cali to visit my sisters. We actually decided to make it a 4 day weekend and left early Friday morning because both of us only had 1 class that we would be missing that day. Kristin's new baby Noah was also being blessed in church that Sunday so we thought it would be perfect timing to go. This trip was a little different because I started talking to my cousin Brett a few days before and thought to myself that it would be awesome if he came along with us. So we convinced him to go and I'm so glad we did because we had so much fun! it was nice to really get to know him better and it was also nice having a third driver on the trip lol.. We always have so much fun when we go out there and it was fun to see all the kids again. and of course, I love being with my sisters. One of these days we will have to plan a sisters trip together with all of us (kelli, we miss you every time I am out there visiting!). As I get older, I realize just how important my sisters are to me. Love you, sisters!!

We all headed to this awesome park with giant slides for lunch on Saturday:
