Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the armies of the north... (his actual full name, haha)

Here are a few cute photos i've been able to catch of max lately. we are finally getting used to having him around and are loving it! he is so fun and is super smart. he already has most of his obedience commands down-sit, down, stay, etc... and we are working on perfecting the game of fetch lol. we are also working on "roll-over" and "shake" but he is still pretty little so its gonna take a lil while longer to really get those down haha.. but we love our little guy. its been way fun having him so far!
my sleeping boys..... max's favorite spot when sam is at home hehe:

Red Rocks

A couple weeks ago on Memorial Day, we decided to head out to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater out on the west side of Denver. we had originally planned to just see the amphitheater real quick then head out and do one of the hiking trails but we ended up just hanging out there at the amphitheater seeing all there was to see. it was pretty fun! and it was nice to be out in the sun for a change. the view was gorgeous. you could see downtown denver just over the hills.. it was a neat place to visit and to read about all the famous people who have performed there. red rocks is famous because it is a naturally created amphitheater with huge rock formations behind the stage and up the sides to provide the perfect acoustics for a concert. pretty cool stuff.

standing on the stage.. the musicians' view hehe:

Maximus

I figured it was time to write a post dedicated to the new little addition to our family. As sort of a graduation gift (for my graduation), we decided to get ourselves a puppy. Sam and I have been wanting to get one since we got married and we decided now would be a good time. We got a chocolate and tan mini-dachshund and he is so cute! we decided to name him Maximus, meaning "the greatest" haha.. he is 11 weeks old today. we have had him for a week and so far, it has been pretty fun.. I've never had a dog before so it is quite the learning experience and is definitely taking some adjusting on both our parts. but we love the little guy already. anywho, here are some pics from the past week...
