More painting! and some decor

While Sam was busy with his new job, I went ahead and did the rest of my house on my own. I did the front room, upstairs play room, bedroom, both bathrooms, and eventually Marshall's room, later on, by myself. Sam helped with the second coat in the bedroom as well as Ivy's room whenever he found time off from work. We added a few new little decorations as well. I did the kid's bathroom and we found a piece of artwork we both love for our bedroom.

Painting!

Naturally, we came home to quite the disaster. We really hadn't unpacked much because we knew we wanted to do some work in the week and a half before Sam started his residency program. I pretty much cried when I woke up, completely overwhelmed with all the work that needed to be done. Sam kept assuring me that it would get done and to just take it one day at a time. First things first, picking paint color and painting the cabinets, because that ugly yellow walnut color had to go. 

After! I LOVE the end result. I did not, however love the process. Haha! 

Next project, painting the entire downstairs! We were both so happy to see the ugly blue and yellow walls go!

Finished product! Goodbye yellow! Hello fresh greige color! We used "Agreeable Gray" by Sherwin Williams. Again, LOVE the outcome, did not love the process. I just don't know if home renovations are really my thing, in all honesty. Just grateful for a hardworking husband who knows the end result is worth the trouble!! lol:

Walnut Canyon

The next day, we headed to a local canyon right there in Flagstaff and Patrice and kids to check out the cave-dweller habitats of early mountain civilizations. Walnut Canyon was SO cool to see how some of these early american indians lived a few hundred years ago. Really incredible how they carved out these little homes on the sides of the mountains and would travel up and down from the river. Another fun adventure! Thanks Patrice and fam having us for showing us around! We loved being able to see the area with you guys! Until next time! ;-)

We were allowed to climb in and out of caves they had along the path. Kids thought it was so cool!
