February Snowmageddon

The night of Gala, it was supposed to start snowing. By the time we got home (pretty late) the temperature had dropped and flurries were starting! Little did we know that the snow would keep dumping for the next TWO weeks! School was canceled and they told the students to just keep up with the lectures online. That meant Sam studied at home most days and my students only came if they were able to get out of their driveways. It was a QUIET two weeks, that's for sure! But we had enough food here at home for me to stay busy cooking great meals and the kids were pretty content just to play at home. I can't even count how many times it snowed. Some days it just seemed to never stop! I guess we got ALL of winter in these 2 weeks. Ha! Anyways, here are some pictures from the rest February spent here at home! lol..

Just the beginning!
Sam said there was too much ice to make a snowman they opted for Ivy's name, lol:
The next morning.. A little more:
Snow started packing better so they tried their hand at an igloo, lol:
This was the next round of snow, a couple days later. CRAZY cold:
Fun with play-do and toothpicks (left). AND great night for our favorite enchilada stacks:

10 inches total.. But I think there was a day that 1-2 inches had melted away so I'm sure overall it was more:
In her own little world, hehe:
 The sun!!!
A few days later and after much of the first snowfalls had melted, we got dumped on again!
Sam took the kids to the park a day or two later. I don't think they care how cold it is:
Had lots of warm baths after our playtime in the snow so many times (those are combs in the water. not sure why they were their favorite toys that day, lol):

DCOM Gala 2015!

This year Gala was held on the evening of Valentine's Day. I loved being able to dress up with my man and go for a nice long evening out down to Knoxville together! Some great friends of ours came and babysat our kids for us so we could go. Thank you soo much Kallee and Taylor!! Sam and I had been looking forward to this date for a while and it did not disappoint! We had dinner, and danced/gambled the night away for a raffle and even ended the night winning a meal for two at a local lunch place! Woo! Right before they called Sam's name, he had just finished telling our friends how he never wins anything and wanted to win something! Haha! It was a night to remember! Love you babe!! Glad we got to spend some time together on Valentine's!
The details.. Did my nails myself! I looove how they turned out:

All the professors doing a hilarious dance together:
It was supposed to be a "masquerade" but hardly anyone kept their masks on. Had to get a picture with the Phantom (left) and with Jason's jester mask:
This is about where my mask stayed for the rest of the evening after that one picture with Jason, lol:

With my gorgeous girls! (Rachel on the left, Diana on the right):
Photo booth with Britton, Diana and Jason:
One of Sam's friends snapped this shot of us and I'm so grateful she did! One of my favorite pictures of us. It was a great evening! I doubt we will be coming back for the Gala's over these next two years so we tried to make the most of it! We really had SUCH a blast!

Oh and in case you were interested, here are pics from last years Gala (Marshall was only 4 months old at the time!): Gala 2014

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's day was such a fun day celebrated with those I love most! We spent the day playing with the kids, then that evening Sam and I went to DCOM's annual gala that evening! Started off the day with this hunk who bought me some lovely pink roses--
And took the kids to our local donut shop (Walmart) for a delicious donut breakfast!

We had some fun making Valentine's for those we love with markers and stickers. Here Ivy is giving her Valentine to Marshall, hehe. I just love these kiddos. and I LOVE how much they love each other. Most of the time, anyways, lol:
