Fall Pictures

These first set of pictures of our kids are when Sam and I went on the hunt to find a good location to do a little photo shoot for family pics (beginning of October)! Marshall was a terrible model all morning but Ivy had the time of her life. Ha! It was a pretty random day but I think we got a few really good shots that I am going to cherish forever! I just love that we were able to catch them in such candid moments.
These pictures were taken at Bay's Mountain near our house during mid October--peak time for the leaves! Autumn around here is amazing and we really wanted to capture the gorgeous colors. Our good friends Sarah and Joel came with us to take our family shots and we were able to get a few good ones of them too! It was a little stressful, mostly because my kids were ca-razy but we were able to squeak a few good ones out! ha! I do love how they all turned out. My favorite family one is the last one on the post.  Kids can be stinkers but they sure look cute in all these, I think. lol!

Kemah Boardwalk!

During most of our stay in TX, Sam had to work during the week and then had off on the weekends (had Christmas day and New Years off, but that was it). So we were pleasantly surprised when he had a day off from work on one of our last days in town! We decided to do something fun with the kids and take them down to Kemah with Grandma and Jessie! We had lunch at the Aquarium (BIG hit with the kids, double win for us!), rode the ferris wheel, the train, drove some motorized boats, and then just enjoyed walking around the boardwalk! Jessie also made Sam, Ivy and Marshall jump in the hurricane stimulator with her, which was amazingly hilarious. Kemah is a BIG part of Sam and I's nostalgic teenage dating years so it was VERY fun to revisit. It is one of the places we miss most about Houston! Good memories there! Glad our kids thought it was as awesome as we did! And glad it still is awesome! Great day to remember! Two days after this, we headed back to our home in Tennessee and Ivy has not stopped talking about Texas (and Kemah, lol) since! It really was a great extended visit.

Ranch with Kelli and Shaun (AND friends, Jeff and Emily!)

A couple days after New Years, we met Kelli and Shaun up at Dad R.'s ranch. It was such a fun, busy, but COLD day! Had to wear triple layers for this humid chill!! Still had lots of fun though! Kids loved the ranger rides and watching the horses. Ivy was a BIG fan of riding and even took a long ride with Sam and Uncle Shaun around the property for a while! Later on that day, some good friends of ours from our BYU days were in the area and drove out to see us! It was SO much fun visiting with Jeff, Emily and their girls. It's been years since we've seen them!
So glad we were able to spend the day with my gorgeous sister! Thanks for driving all the way up here, even though it was SO cold! ha!
Couple of blurry pics with friends but SO glad we were able to see them!
