Sam's residency program does an annual retreat every year for just the residents! In September, we were able to enjoy two nights away to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure in the mountains of NC. This was the house we stayed in! We were with our friends/neighbors Ryan and Laura and their girls! We would head down the road a bit to the other rental house for breakfast/dinners with the group. The night we arrived, we had dinner together, then most people headed down to the basement for costume karaoke. Ha! The next morning the residents all participated in some team building exercises together while the spouses enjoyed some relaxing time at the nearby park, then after that, our schedules were pretty open! We explored downtown Chimney Rock with friends for lunch, then did a little kayaking in the afternoon. The next morning, we left our rental house and headed up to Chimney Rock State Park to climb to the top! It was quite the view! We also got to see the waterfalls where they filmed The Last of the Mohicans. This was such a fun trip for us!!
