For Thanksgiving break last November, we took a drive up to Corning, NY to visit Steve and Sarra who we hadn't seen in a long time! Too long! Sam's mom drove up from her mission in Washington DC to spend the week with us AND niece Camille came for a few days in there as well! It such a fun week! Ivy was in heaven, having her older cousins, Stephanie and Lizzie, to play with every single day. And Marshall though Michael and Lucas were pretty cool. It was so nice being able to spend time with family, especially those we haven't seen in literally years!
First day there, found some lovely gems in my SIL Sarra's old photos.. Steve and Sam playing dress up when they were younger. hahah! Annd, Sarra took me to her gym that morning. It was so exciting to be in a real gym to work out! Ya know, because i don't even live near one.
Meeting baby Michael (about 2 months younger than Marshall) for the first time! They certainly look like cousins, for sure! So adorable!
Ivy in the car with her cousins the next day, going on a day date with Grandma for the morning! The right pictures were after lunch together. It started snowing! And kept snowing for the rest of the day and night! Oh and side note- Corning is such a quaint little town! It was awesome to be able to eat at such delicious local places. One-of-a-kind cafes and restaurants like that are always so fun! And downtown was super cute and so well kept. It was a nice change from the lower quality small town we live next to right now.
There was quite a bit more snow up where Steve and Sarra's house was (on a hill). This was not too long after those other pictures at lunchtime. The kids were so excited to go out and play.
Next day, of course, all the kids wanted to do was go out and play in the snow again. Found some small snow pants Ivy could borrow from the girls. she is so stinking adorable.
Cami and Marshall were total buds. OH and he loved to eat the snow. Seriously thought it was the coolest thing, so we just got him a cup full. Lol:
Thanksgiving day was spent well, afternoon settlers game and fresh apple pie, made by Grandma and Cami. It was delish! Then that night we had thanksgiving dinner at some of Steve and Sarra's friends' house. this was the only pic I got of my kids, lol:
Had to take a few selfies for documentation of course. So glad you were there to share fun times with us, Cami!! It has been seriously, way too long. I don't think I've laughed as hard as we did that night in a long time! You, Sam, and Steve are serious crack-ups.The next morning, the kids and I were able to meet up with my awesome friend Allison and her boy Wes who live in the town just an hour east of Corning. We are both a long ways from our old stomping grounds in TX and are hardly ever that close to each other so we had to get together!! Miss you Alf! Maybe someday we will live closer!
Later that night, Grandma wanted to celebrate Marshall's birthday a few days early. She got him his very own winter coat! Thanks Grandma! It is always so fun to see you. Ivy very much enjoyed spending time with you and the girls and we enjoyed our late night chats! :) Love you!!
And finally, a group shot of all our kiddos! When did this happen?? Weren't we just living near each other in Provo with just Lizzie and Stephanie in existence? hahaha! So so fun to visit with you, Steve and Sarra! Stephanie and Lizzie have grown up so much and Lucas and Michael are just the cutest!! Thanks so much for having us! Glad we made the trip up. :)
