Easter weekend

Sam and I spent Easter weekend with his family considering I had been able to spend quite a bit of time with my family while he was still in Utah. He finally drove in the Friday before Easter and it was sooo amazing to finally see him and have him and puppy here with me.. Saturday we spent the day celebrating the Easter holiday at Jeff and Michelle's house complete with egg dying, a fabulous BBQ and an easter egg hunt.. Then on Sunday we headed up to Sam's dad's house in Conroe and for a wonderful Easter dinner and games with all the family. Didn't get any pictures that day but it was a day well spent. :) We are so grateful for our family here in Houston and that we are able to spend so much time with them. We are also grateful for our Savior and his sacrifice for us. It was a lovely day to be able to reflect on that as well. The most important thing about Easter, of course..

Pics from Saturday's egg hunt at Jeff's... think we have enough eggs?? hehe:

Run kids, run! haa:

So I also wanted to include just a few pics of how Max is adjusting to Houston these days.. I think he likes it. I know he has always been a fan of warmth. And the sunlight, for sure.. These first couple pics were from hanging out in Kelli's backyard one day. They have this bucket full of foam balls that the kids play with.. We decided to throw em all out there and see how Max liked them. It was hilarious! He couldn't ever decide which ball to go for. I think he was pretty much in ball heaven. lol..

....Max getting used to our new apartment. Thank goodness we get some sun shining through in the afternoons because this is one of his favorite pastimes:
Max, the cat (He loves that he can see out this window. He's there practically all day long letting me know when a people or a big truck passes by or when Sam gets home, lol):

BBQ at Kelli's

This was actually the evening after my baby shower a few weeks ago. Tyson and Valerie were in town and we decided to do a fun dinner with everyone. And the weather ended up being PERFECT! nice and cool... at least for Houston standards, lol. The only thing missing that day was Sam! He hadn't driven down yet because of finals..
Actually chillin out on the deck all evening! in Houston! it was so nice...
Mmm cookies. nice goose-egg, michael, ehe:

 silly kids!

The hosts of the lovely evening. Thanks for letting us crash at your house, Kelli and Shaun!

Just a few pics that were taken of Max over our last couple weeks in Utah. :)

 Dog Park in Salt Lake:
Along the trail, Max met a gorgeous little girl dachshund that was black and tan, long-haired.. she was soooo cute!! And he was totally crushing! It was hilarious to watch him chase her all around. He was totally smitten, hehe.. I tried to get a picture but this is the closest I got:
Chillin with his friend Clifford (our neighbor's dog from across the street).. they were best buds:

Last Saturday was my baby shower that my awesome sister Kelli put together for me. There were quite a few people who helped out with decorations, games, and food and what not so thank you to all who contributed!! And thank you to Mom Robinson for hosting it at your house! Anywho, just had to include some fun pictures of everything because it all turned out SO CUTE!! I looooved the colors and bird theme so much. My sister is so darn creative. :)

Dear Baby

Dear Baby,
I'm very sorry but there is no longer any room for you to be doing summersaults and stretching out your legs in there. So please stop attempting it because you are wearing me out! Even just sitting here! Oh, and our new doctor says you are already measuring at 5 and a 1/2 lbs as of last week (probably more now) so please slow down just a little on the weight gain because I'm not sure I can handle a 9 lb baby for my first, hehe.. Love you and can't wait to meet you! Your daddy and I are anxious to see what you look like. :)
Love,
Your Mama
PS- Hopefully the fact that you are constantly pushing your strong little feet up at the top of my stomach (which in return pushes your little head and body down) means that you are anxious to get out. If that is the case, I would not be upset in the slightest if you decided to come early. Just a thought. ;)

34 weeks already?!

I was 34 weeks this past Sunday.. This was actually taken on Tuesday so about 34 wks, 2 days? I dunno.. the days all run together now

Can't believe we are in the final stretch! Just a few weeks more! Not too much has changed in just two weeks so I'm only including a picture and a few little tidbits.. I'm feeling pretty good still, besides the normal complaints such as achy back, heartburn, the constant need to pee, etc etc.. I've decided there really is no winning the heartburn battle. I get it when I'm hungry, after I eat, no matter what I eat, and at any given time of the day. So lets just say my bottle of TUMS is always within reaching distance, lol..

A few other new things:
-I'm finally to the point that random people everywhere have started to make comments about my "pleasantly plump" self haha.. I'm just glad it hasn't quite gotten to the point where people say something like "WOW you look like you are just about to POP!" I'm not quite sure I've ever really liked that exclamation. haha.. and hopefully i still have a few more weeks before i start looking THAT huge. hahah..
-After finishing off my second bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup (just while I've been pregnant) the other day, it made me realize that this girl must love chocolate milk. Pretty sure I've been making at least a glass a day for a while now, lol.
-I can finally identify general times that she is more active than not.. She moves most when I'm pretty hungry and in the mornings right after I wake up.. Then if there are days that I am walking or moving around more, the second I sit down is when she starts rolling around, hehe.
-She is growing super fast now, at least it seems that way. Today is only Thursday and I feel much bigger today than I did just this past Sunday. Luckily that hasn't really shown up on my scale too bad. She may be growing but my apetite and weight gain has slowed waaay down, which I am definitely grateful for haha.

Other news: I am in Houston now! After a stressful couple of weeks of throwing a garage sale and then packing up the rest of my house (so Sam doesn't have to worry about it during his finals), I'm finally here! Sam will come down sometime next week after he finishes his tests and I can hardly wait til he is here and we are all moved in..

Happy 24th Birthday to ME!

Well... I've crossed the line into actually sounding like my age is old. at least in my eyes. lol.. I know all of you will say, oh whatever, you are NOT old.. but I always felt like 24 was the age that just started sounding older. When I was 22, I felt like it sounded like I was still sooo young and I couldn't WAIT to be 23. Then 23 came and went faster than any other year previously and before I knew it, I was already turning 24! eek!! Well, here's to a great year past and hopefully a great year to come. Considering we have some exciting things coming up, mainly baby girl making her appearance sometime in May, I'm sure it's bound to be a great year. Sam made an extra effort this year to make sure I had an awesome birthday and I could not be more appreciative of my amazing husband and how well he knows me..

My day started out with a surprise trip to a day spa where Sam told me I was scheduled for both a pedicure and a pregnancy massage! yesss! then he was sweet enough to sit with me during my pedicure..  It was so fun having him sit next to me while the girl did her thing. it was especially fun because he had never seen one done before so he was kinda interested in it all haha.. maybe next time he'll actually get one with me. :)
my pregnant self with my HOT man:
Sam had the whole day planned out.. so next on the agenda was to have lunch at the park and fly kites together. he even had gone home and grabbed Max while I was in my massage then came back to get me with lunch in the car.. we drove to the park in Provo Canyon that has the ideal winds for kite flying, hehe:

Max taking a turn flying Sam's kite, hahaa.. he wasn't too fond of the idea. after sam tied it on him, he hobbled over to me and wouldn't move from this spot, lol:

Later on we went to dinner at Gloria's Little Italy here in Provo. Neither of us had ever been and wanted to try it out. The food was pretty good, but the service and environment of the restaurant was so fun! They had a guy playing the accordion who was super awesome. oh and the dessert was pretty dang good too.. after we ordered this and were half way through it, our server brought us another dessert on the house so they could sing to us. let's just say I got plenty of chocolate treats for my birthday:

aaaaaand then on my ACTUAL birthday the next day (Sunday April 3rd), we woke up to THIS:
Happy Birthday to me. Gee. Thanks, weather. I was just getting used to the 70 degree sunny days. In a way it was nice because we weren't planning on going anywhere anyways. We spent the day watching conference and cooking a yummy roast for dinner. It was a nice and relaxing birthday this year.. Thanks family and friends for all the well wishes and treats! :)

Rock Creek Canyon

Last weekend, a couple days before my birthday, we took a little hike up Rock Creek Canyon here in Provo. It's right near Rock Canyon Park where we have been sledding a few times during the winters. I can't believe I've never been up this Canyon before! It was so pretty.. We didn't go in very far because it takes quite a bit more energy for me to move around these days, lol. Sam can't believe how slow I waddle walk most of the time haha.. it was still fun tho, even if we did just hike to the beginning big rocks where we could see lots of people rock climbing that day. We will have to try it out sometime when we get back next fall when I'm not so huge, hehe.. Max especially had a great time. He loves exploring trails and hikes and what not. And I love that he is small enough and well behaved enough not to bother people, even when he's off a leash. He mainly just sticks with us the whole time. :)

Sam and Max exploring a boulder (Max is so teeny lol):

I spy rock climbers in the background...
