Little Ivy Lu

It has been one heck of a week! I'm pretty sure I've cried more in this past week than I think I ever have in my entire life! All I can say is I HATE hormones. haha. Luckily my loving husband has been super patient with my breakdowns (He also likes to explain to me exactly what is happening with my body because he had just learned about it all in his physiology class haha)..

But on to more important things.. We just can't get enough of our cute little bug! I'm sure most of you who have kids can agree that taking pictures of a new baby gets super addicting. Here are a few from the first couple days home from the hospital..

Trip to the pediatrician the day after we got home.. Ivy has a little fracture on her collar bone just from delivery (we've been told it's not uncommon). The hospital told us to make an appt. to see her pediatrician soon just so they can be aware of it and monitor it and what not... She looks so teeny next to her big daddy!

I know I look super happy in these pics and looking back on them now, I'm pretty sure it was because I was hyped up on vicodin for a couple days, LOL.. no worries tho, no more pain meds for me ;)
 just chillin':
First outfit! It's the only one that fits her besides the tiny onesies I have.. I didn't buy many things that are newborn size. hopefully she chunks up soon. :)

First bath! just a sponge bath with Mema this time.. Maybe she will like the next one a little better, hehe:

Max found a cuddly space to take a nap.. He has been doing so well with the newest addition to our family. I can tell that he realizes how fragile and precious she is. He isn't a huge fan of her crying but he usually just seems more concerned than anything. If she has been crying for a lil while, he either heads to his kennel or sits near us just staring at us like "well aren't you going to do something??" haha he is cute.
Still more pics to come!! And maybe I will get around to posting a video soon too.. Oh and just wanted to say thanks to my Mom who has been here day and night helping us adjust to our new life! She has been a huge help. Thanks Mom! And also, thanks to those of you who have brought us meals as well! They are much appreciated!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this past Sunday, we spent the evening at Kelli's house for the most delicious BBQ chicken and corn on the cob dinner! It seriously was soo so yummy. My parent's came up for the occasion and brought the exchange student who has been living with them. His name is Safwan and he is super nice. We also invited Christa and Andy (who finally arrived here in Houston the night before) and another guy (also named Andy, lol) who is selling with the boys this summer. It was so fun having everyone there!

Please excuse the hugeness that is my belly in this pic. I'm pretty sure it's the shirt that makes me look so wide. right?? hehe:
Mmmm. Best fruit pizza ever. Specially decorated by Alexa, herself:
Boys will be boys.. This game quickly escalated into an intense game of dodgeball (with all the little yellow foam balls from previous blog pics) with Shaun and Andy just minutes after I took this photo:

Max found a comfy spot to relax while watching the crazy boys:
With the mama on Mother's Day. Hope you had a wonderful day, mom!

Ready for baby!

So I really meant to take a 36 week picture.. aaand then I meant to take a 37 week picture. but neither of those ever happened so here you go... I am about 37.5 or so in this one. might even be a couple days away from 38 weeks. I'm not sure. All I do know is that I am even bigger today than I was then, hahah! and that was only like 5 days ago! lol..
As of today, I am officially 38 weeks and 2 days along.. Soo close! She has gotten so much heavier lately.. and bigger too. She clearly lets me know quite frequently that she is feeling extra squished in there. Her "cute little kicks" are no more. They have become full-body stretches for minutes at a time and my poor abdomen has just about had enough. haha... No worries tho. We know she will be here soon enough and we can't wait!

Just a few little things I am especially excited to use:
We are only in Houston temporarily so we decided not to buy a crib yet. Luckily my parents had this awesome pack n' play for us to borrow.. and yes. I am a big fan of all the pink:

Not too many bows or flowers yet but I am happy with these ones for now while she is still tiny. And i'm sure there are many still to come in her future, hehe. (btw thanks Kelli for the bow hanger thing!):

4th anniversary!

I know I say this every year but I can't believe it's already been this long since we were married! The past year has just flown by! And I know I will probably say that every year to come, as well! haha.. This anniversary was especially fun because we are down here in Texas and because we are expecting... exciting stuff! Our actual anniversary was this past Wednesday, the 4th. Sam had to sell in the morning and then came home for a late lunch. He said he made some sales that morning so he decided to take the rest of the day off! yay! We were coming up with ideas of things we could do to celebrate and randomly, Sam thought that maybe we could go up and take his dad's boat out on the lake for a little sunset drive.. I was in no way opposed to this idea at all, of course. :) Sam called up his dad who said he would be home that evening and wouldn't mind at all so off we went to Conroe! (Thanks Dad!)

We ended up taking some back roads instead of the freeway and the drive was so beautiful... we love the north side of Houston which looks mostly like this:
Leaving the dock.. my husband's pretty much a pro:
It was so nice to be out on the lake after being land-locked up in Utah for so long...
Love this. so much. pretty sure we are going to have to live near a lake some day:

Sam had to take a few preggo pics, lol:

Finished off our date night at BJ's for dinner and a pizookie. mmmm:
Best dessert EVER:
My husband is seriously the greatest. I say all the time that I'm soo grateful I married him. :) He is my best friend and can't wait to go through our next step in life together. Baby Girl could come any day now and we are so excited! I know Sam is going to be an AWESOME dad... Here's to our many years to come together! Love you babe! :D
