Babies babies babies!

For the past couple months, I've kind of become somewhat of a photographer for my friends who are all having babies.. There were quite a few of us wives in our social circle who were all pregnant at the same time and it really has been fun going through the whole process alongside these awesome women.

Anyways, my good friend Leila had taken a few pictures of Marshall at the hospital and again for his blessing day. I just was so grateful that someone was willing to do that for me that I started offering to go take pictures for the next babies that were born (especially because most of us are on a pretty strict budget these days and newborn pics by professionals are pretty expensive). I started with my good friend Diana's baby boy, and spent just about the whole afternoon figuring out how to get the settings and baby positions just right. From then on, I was a little more confident with offering out my services. Each shoot has been so unique and fun in it's own way and has been the perfect excuse to go visit my friends after they have their little one. :) Still a few more to go over the next couple months but here are the ones I've done so far...

*FYI, some of the colors (and photo quality) look a little funny after uploading to the blog for some reason*

Baby Pierce with his older siblings, Graham and Evelyn. So glad I snapped these few in he beginning:

Baby Aubrey.. This girl has had the most hair out of all the babies, by far! She is just a doll:

Baby Maxwell on his blessing day (he's about 2 months old in these pics. I had snapped a few of him in the hospital the day after he was born). He just looks so adorable in his outfit:

Baby Joshua.. such a sweet little thing. Youngest of six kids! Glad I was able to capture a few with his mama:
Baby Ruby.. She was such a sweetheart through the whole shoot! Just drifted off to sleep and was out for the rest of the time I was there, hehe:

DCOM Gala 2014

Sam's med school hosts a Gala ever spring semester for the students and faculty and we decided to make it a date! Some VERY dear friends of ours, John and Amanda, offered to watch BOTH our kids for us until the late hours so we could have an evening to enjoy ourselves. John was a 4th year (now graduated! Woo!) and they decided not to go this year. So I pumped some bottles a few days in advanced for Marshall and told Ivy ahead of time that she would be going over to play with their daughter for the night. Ivy was excited to see their daughter but after she realized I was getting dressed up, I think she was even more excited that mommy and daddy were going to a "ball!" So we dropped them off early, then headed down to Knoxville for a night of dinner, dancing, and some (fake) gambling. It was nice to finally meet a lot of his professors and friends face to face too! The event was super fun but I think the best part about the evening was getting dressed up with my hunk of a husband and being together the entire night without a single interruption! It was amazing!
Amanda was awesome enough to snap a few pics of us before we left.. So grateful she did! They turned out pretty great, I think:
(...and as long as I got my suit n' tie...)
I know it's a little blurry but this is the best view of what my hair looked like.. the other side was similar. I think I did a pretty good job on my own, thanks to pinterest, hehe:
Love you babe! I had such a great time sitting down to a nice dinner together, dancing, and playing "craps" for most of the night, hehe.. And another BIG THANK YOU to John and Amanda for taking such great care of our kids! Y'all rock and we will miss you LOTS when you move this coming week!

Easter weekend

We decided to stay in town for Easter this year and it ended up being such a nice, relaxing weekend together. We attended the ward Easter Egg Hunt and Ivy could not get enough of the whole event. She had a blast with her best buddies, Graham and Hank, afterwards. It was hilarious to watch them get excited for each other's fun easter egg finds...

Allll pink. This was not prompted. She clearly has a new favorite color these past few months (it used to be green):
Easter Bunny stopped at our house on Easter morning:
Ivy's mouth full of candy in the right pic, lol...
Right after church we snapped a few photos in our Sunday best... We were going to take a family pic but I think we might be wearing these outfits for our family photos soon:
That afternoon we were invited to a luncheon with close friends. It was amazing! Great day spent with awesome people. Big thank you to our friend's, the Carlson's for hosting the luncheon:
It really was a wonderful Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with those we love. The gorgeous day surely reflected the joyous occasion and spirit of the holiday!
