Ivy's new (old) dresser

In our last house, our landlord had a few pieces of furniture that we were using but couldn't take with us. A dresser for Ivy was one of those! So we needed a dresser for this grown up girl and her wardrobe. Decided to try and keep things cheap because we are on a pretty tight med school budget and refinish a dresser to match her bed! This was officially our first DIY project together and it was pretty fun. $30 used dresser and $15 for paint! Can't get much cheaper than that! Sam sanded and did most of the painting.. I spray painted the handles to match the cream and put up a mirror I had found at a garage sale a while back for $1. I think it all came together really cute!

The House!

Mostly for record purposes, I wanted to include a few pictures of our new house now that we are all moved in. It really was such a lucky find. And perfect for our family for these next couple years! Two stories-- upstairs includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, and a play room; downstairs is a full basement with bedroom/guest bath and sunroom, full garage and oversized storage closet. The only thing I feel like we gave up is having a nice backyard and back patio. But we gained a garage and playroom and so much more! So I guess it was a fair trade.
We bought this awesome table and chairs a few years ago and it never quite matched out old house. Couldn't be a more perfect match to the color and space in our new kitchen! We love it:
Playroom is just off of from the kitchen:
I haven't had a pantry in 3 years. This was a pretty big deal:
Hallway to the bedrooms/basement:
Ivy's bedroom, with lower level rod in her closet for hanging her dress-ups:
Marshall's room! I loved setting this up. Finally have the rooms organized how I've been wanting them! We just had an old guest bed (that was our landlord's) in his room in our old house. Hello space! Can't wait to do a little more decorating in it:
Kid's bathroom/laundry room, complete with oversized tub that the kids are already in love with:
And finally, our downstairs music studio for the piano and teaching lessons! It really is so nice to have a big music room. And I love that one wall is brick! Adds personality to the room. Acoustics aren't the greatest but it's still a great room with a nice view:
Not pictured: our room, because there is nothing special about it, besides our amazing walk in closet! And most of the downstairs, because there's a lot of empty space.. not much to see! We put Sam's desks, massage table and my craft table in the main room, but other than that, it is pretty bare! Maybe someday we will make it a little more homey. :)

Lake Powell Family Pics

These past couple years, we've been able to snap some family pictures of us at Lake Powell, thanks to Jeff and Michelle and their wonderful camera abilities. I just love these pictures so much. Lake Powell always brings such happy memories and I love having a few good family photos that captures us in that moment of our lives. Thank you so much Jeff and Michelle!

Lake Powell post 2

Few more pictures of our fun back at the houseboat.... Sam and Marshall played out on the Lilly Pad forever. I don't quite remember where Ivy went (jet ski ride with Aunt Michelle, maybe?) but they were hilarious to watch. So glad I got these moments on camera:
Then Sam jumped into the water and Marshall had to follow him, of course, lol:
Proceed to jumping at least 25 times more off of the Lilly Pad. The kid is a fish:
Sunset on the lake:
Sand fun on one of the last days.. The water was a tad higher this year so we didn't really have much of a beach front until the end of the week:
Garrett and Nate fishing off the side:
Love these people:
Finally, a few wakeboarding and surfing pics. Didn't get very many because we took mostly videos. Hopefully Sam will put them together for a movie sometime:
Seriously SO much fun:
We took lots of jet ski rides with the kids to explore the nearby canyons. Don't be fooled by Marshall's expression in the pic, they loved it. lol:
Sort of hard to see in the pic but Ivy and Sam wrote her name out on the sand with rocks. had to get a picture:
Until next time Lake Powell!! Big thank you to Grandpa and Grandma for having us again! And thanks to all our family for SUCH an amazing vacation! Wouldn't be so fun without the people we love. ;-)
