Halloweeeeen!

This year for Halloween we kept it pretty low key which was nice. A few days before, we went and bought a couple pumpkins and carved them with our good friends Andy and Christa. They turned out sooo awesome!!! best pumpkin we have ever carved! i think it is the first one we have carved since we've been married and it was way fun so i am sure we are gonna do it every year from now on. Then on Halloween night we had a few friends over and made some yummy caramel apples then watched the Dark Knight. we hadn't seen it since the theaters and it was a pretty creepy movie so we thought it was perfect for the evening! I just have to say that I liked the movie waay more this second time I saw it. anyways, it was a great night! we had an awesome time with some good friends.

Sorry for the cruddy photo quality. our digital camera broke so we have been using the cameras on our phones. if anyone out there has an old digital camera lying around that they dont use anymore, let us know....

letting the boys do the carving lol:

Halloween, making caramel apples.. this was mine, heath chunks, mini choc chips and marshmallows:
the beginning of sam's masterpiece:
mallow-teeth?

Sam's creation.. not only did he include marshmallows on the toothpicks, he was sure to drizzle chocolate on them as well.. he pays attention to detail, haha:

Catching up...

October was a pretty busy month for us. I'm just now realizing I never posted pictures of the Opera so I thought I would get to that! It went great. Pretty time consuming but way fun. plus some of sam's family came in town to see it so that was fun too. Thanks for coming Amy and Mom R.! We loved seeing you! also, we had our choir concert with the King Singers which was way cool too. Some people took some pretty professional looking photos of both the Opera and the choir concert and let us get them off the internet so I am posting a few of those for yall to see!

Tavern scene in the beginning that Sam was in:
Next scene, we are all at a party at this scientist's house and Sam starts wandering around stealing things and touching stuff LOL "....uh maybe we shouldnt be touching that..."

Full cast curtain call, we on the stairs in the back, second couple down:

King Singers Concert, if you click on the pic, it should blow up so you could find us in the back better. I am right behind the percussion guy to the left, sam is second row towards the right:
before our choir came on:
Cool group shot:

Hiking the Y

Lately we have been hanging out with our good friends Andy and Christa and have been having so much fun! Last Friday night after our opera got out and after Andy's choir concert was done, we got together around 11 o'clock at night and decided to hike the Y because it was lit up for Homecoming. Neither Sam nor I had ever hiked the Y so it was pretty cool.

This is a pic from the internet just to show what the Y looks like during homecoming week:this is what it was like for most of the way up there hahaa jk:
about halfway-ish:

andy finds a big rock lol:

finally made it! view of the Y lit up:

More Floral Projects

I am having so much fun in my Floral Design class this semester. learning all different types of arrangements and what not. We have a lab about every other week or so where we get to take what we learn and make the arrangements ourselves. over the past few weeks I have learned to make a fall gift basket with a cute little daisy arrangement in it. another thing I learned to do is how to make all different kinds of boutonnieres and corsages. I love being able to practice this new skill and cant wait to learn more about it.
flowers without the gift basket:

boutonnieres: carnation, wildflowers, rose, daisy, calla lily (some of them are pretty simple just for the class but we were taught how to add more to them.)

Motorcycle Trip Day 2

So here are some long awaited pictures from the second day of our motorcycle trip up in Idaho/Wyoming. We spent the night in Jackson, Wyoming then drove back up to go through the Grand Teton National Park. It was a fun day. rainy towards the end but fun. of course, i WAS riding in the warm, dry car the entire time so maybe i am not one to talk. hehee anyways, the view of the mountains was gorgeous. (thanks Sarra for these pics!)

Breakfast in Jackson, gettin ready to leave:awesome view of the Tetons:
My favorite pic from the entire trip. finally got a great group shot:
this pretty much sums up our entire trip. lol:
smiling for a different camera. someday i'll get the real pic haha:

it always seemed kinda tricky for people to get nice couple shots; this was a regular occurrence lol:
We saw a moose! just a little one:

awesome view before heading through a rainy mountain pass:
where Michelle and I rode for the entire day hehe... it was fun. and warm.
right after stopping for lunch, we were driving towards out last pass before making it back to idaho falls and this is what we saw:
luckily our riders got through it safely and were able to dry off once we got back to Idaho Falls; it was a great trip despite the last couple hours of drenching rain, lol:
