Bathroom floors

Sooooo over the past year, we have dealt with multiple plumbing issues (not our fault, just old main pipes that needed to be replaced) and our CARPETED bathrooms (which were not very clean to begin with) took quite the beatings (or floodings, shall we say). After Sam finished up last semester and finally had a little extra free time, we decided to get rid of the gross carpet/mold. We found some affordable vinyl tiles that could be grouted and got to work! Not sure why anyone would ever put CARPET in a BATHROOM so we are VERY glad it's gone. Our bathrooms feel so much cleaner now that we got all the mold out. So grateful for my handyman of a husband who put in some time to make this place more livable for our last year here. Took some pics to document his awesome work...

This was the smaller bathroom, after we ripped out the carpet. (It was the same carpet as the other one, so you can imagine.) Lo and behold, some tile underneath?? It wasn't in the best shape and wasn't very pleasant to look at so we just cleaned it, smoothed it and put in the new stuff. Before and after:

This next bathroom was a little more work. There was some tile underneath this carpet as well (??) but it was in even worse shape than the other bathroom so we (Sam) just ripped all of it out, down to the wood and then laid the tile. In the process, we also took out the nasty old sliding door and replaced it with a shower rod. Woohoo!

Finished product! If we were going to be here longer these are definitely many more changes we would make to the house (florescent seashell wall paper?) but the floors seemed like the most important. So glad we put in the work! LOVE how it all turned out:
