FINALLY catching up, here on the blog... We had such a fun Independence Day this year. Dan and Richelle and their boys (Jamie, Paul, and Cody) drove up to visit us for the weekend and we had a blast! It was SO fun getting to know the boys better and seeing them interact with Ivy. She was in heaven, having them to play with and throw her around and tease her. They were hilarious.
On the 4th, we did the most patriotic things we could think of-- hiking up to the Tri-State peak, then stopping it for some good ol' American BBQ at Heavy's. Had to give them a taste of our back-country cookin'.
This place is just before the hike-- called the Iron Furnace.
The Tri-state peak:

Finished off the evening with my traditional fruit pizza, firecrackers for Ivy and Marshall (thanks Richelle!) and, after the kids were in bed, fireworks in our own yard! The boys put on a wonderful display. :) I talked to Ivy beforehand about if she wanted to stay up and watch them (even showed her a couple videos) but she chose to opt out. Hopefully next year she will be ready to watch them!
The next day, we headed down to Morristown for the boys to play frisbee golf, while Richelle and I stopped by a few stores with the kids. Then had a nice lunch in the park and drove back to Harrogate, where the boys continued their sports playing- volleyball (I think?) and soccer, well into the evening. Pretty sure those teenage boys wore Sam and Dan out that weekend! LOL. Thanks for the great visit, guys!! We really had the best time!
