Myrtle Beach Birthday weekend

Sam and I have been feeling like we need a break from reality for quite sometime now so we booked ourselves a 3 night stay in Myrtle Beach for my birthday weekend! It really was more of a happy Valentines, birthday, 10-year-anniversary, and Graduation all rolled into one celebration. It was a nice relaxing (breezy!) weekend away! Wish it was sliiiiightly warmer so we could spend a little more time laying out in the sun, but we tried to make the most of it. Never know how weather will be this time of year! It was still beautiful and fun to be in a coastal, lively city like Myrtle. We did some birthday shopping, lots of eating out and exploring. We also ended up going deep sea fishing one morning because we figured, why not?! I was a little nervous at how it would be but it was surprisingly so fun! Didn't catch much that day for some reason (the crew and other guests thought it was so odd that there was barely a bite all morning) but we still had a good time. Sam did catch one little fish, but it wasn't big enough to keep. Dang! Anyways, I think our favorite part of the whole weekend was just splurging a little on eating out and having time to ourselves to shop and eat meals without any interruption whatsoever! Not necessarily quiet, as Myrtle seems to be a happening place, even in March.. but definitely fun!

Hotel room and view from our hotel:
Dinner night one:Art City Burger.. a burger/sushi joint? It was different, and delicious. haha:

Quite chilly this morning!
Dinner night three at a place called Gordon Biersh in town.. I think this was my favorite restaurant all weekend. The food was so so good. This was the most amazing desert:

My birthday today! Happy 30th to me! Not sure how I feel about it! And not sure how I feel about heading back home today. haha:
BIG HUGE thank you to my mom who stayed to watch our kids for all these days!!! She was so awesome to come up and help us out and my kids LOVED having Mema all to themselves for a few days. Love you, Mom!!

Braylee's musical

I was able to take Ivy to see my student's musical at her high school.. She had a part in the musical Once on this Island and she amazingly well! Way to go Braylee! Braylee's mom is actually a teacher at Ivy's school, whom Ivy is pretty close to. She thought it was so fun to sit next to her for the entire show. We will miss this great family when we leave!

Weekend in Charlotte and Charity's competition

The weekend of April 8th, Sam's new residency program was having a get together for all the incoming residents to meet the people in the program--attendings and residents. We decided to take the kids and show them the house we might be buying! Just waiting to close, at this point. Feeling very lucky that everything is coming together and we were able to find a house in such a good neighborhood! Don't want to jinx anything before closing day so I won't say much more. haha! Anyways didn't get any pictures of the dinner we went to but it was fun to meet everyone! Here are a couple pics from our hopefully new neighborhood park a little while beforehand.
These kids are pros at sleeping in hotels at this point. lol:
The next morning, we drove down to check out Ikea, then Emily told us her and Charity are in Greensboro for the day for a Gymnastics competition for Charity! Small world!! We decided to drive out there and meet them for lunch, then stay for the competition! It was amazing to see Charity in action! Big fans!! She was amazing!
At the competition.. One excited little girl watching.. Go Char!!
