Hiking the Y

Lately we have been hanging out with our good friends Andy and Christa and have been having so much fun! Last Friday night after our opera got out and after Andy's choir concert was done, we got together around 11 o'clock at night and decided to hike the Y because it was lit up for Homecoming. Neither Sam nor I had ever hiked the Y so it was pretty cool.

This is a pic from the internet just to show what the Y looks like during homecoming week:this is what it was like for most of the way up there hahaa jk:
about halfway-ish:

andy finds a big rock lol:

finally made it! view of the Y lit up:

More Floral Projects

I am having so much fun in my Floral Design class this semester. learning all different types of arrangements and what not. We have a lab about every other week or so where we get to take what we learn and make the arrangements ourselves. over the past few weeks I have learned to make a fall gift basket with a cute little daisy arrangement in it. another thing I learned to do is how to make all different kinds of boutonnieres and corsages. I love being able to practice this new skill and cant wait to learn more about it.
flowers without the gift basket:

boutonnieres: carnation, wildflowers, rose, daisy, calla lily (some of them are pretty simple just for the class but we were taught how to add more to them.)

Motorcycle Trip Day 2

So here are some long awaited pictures from the second day of our motorcycle trip up in Idaho/Wyoming. We spent the night in Jackson, Wyoming then drove back up to go through the Grand Teton National Park. It was a fun day. rainy towards the end but fun. of course, i WAS riding in the warm, dry car the entire time so maybe i am not one to talk. hehee anyways, the view of the mountains was gorgeous. (thanks Sarra for these pics!)

Breakfast in Jackson, gettin ready to leave:awesome view of the Tetons:
My favorite pic from the entire trip. finally got a great group shot:
this pretty much sums up our entire trip. lol:
smiling for a different camera. someday i'll get the real pic haha:

it always seemed kinda tricky for people to get nice couple shots; this was a regular occurrence lol:
We saw a moose! just a little one:

awesome view before heading through a rainy mountain pass:
where Michelle and I rode for the entire day hehe... it was fun. and warm.
right after stopping for lunch, we were driving towards out last pass before making it back to idaho falls and this is what we saw:
luckily our riders got through it safely and were able to dry off once we got back to Idaho Falls; it was a great trip despite the last couple hours of drenching rain, lol:

Things to look forward to!

There are lots of fun stuff sam and i have to look forward to this semester and next winter semester! its a very eventful year for us! aside from all the awesome holidays this fall, here are a few other things coming up:

-Sam and I are both in BYU's opera production this semester and it is gonna be awesome! we are both in the chorus of Le Contes d'Hoffmann (the tales of Hoffman) and we are having so much fun! if you are interested in coming, performances are October 21-24 so its comin up soon! -we are in BYU's Concert Choir again this year and on October 29th, we get to do a performance with The King Singers which is pretty awesome. it will be with full orchestra and everything. unfortunately i think this concert is already sold out so i cant say to go buy tickets but it will be aweome nonetheless. lol...-My senior recital! Its going to be December 3rd (Thursday) at 3 pm in the afternoon in BYU's Museum of Art auditorium. I am way excited because my sisters are coming to see me! yay! plus it means that i am finally done with my degree. I will probably do one other post once i have my final poster all made.

-that same weekend, we get to be a part of BYU's Celebration of Christmas with all the choirs and Philharmonic orchestra. its a huge production and is such a neat experience. they usually have some awesome guest performances by soloists as well as some sing-a-longs and what not. it's a really great performance every year. this being our last year, and the fact that my sisters and mom will be in town to see it is especially exciting.
-and FINALLY coming up next april, we are graduating!! woohoo! it is sort of a bittersweet feeling. we are excited to move and start the next chapter in our life but at the same time, we know that we are gonna miss being here at BYU living the college life. time to grow up! (scary! haha)

Lately...

So school has started and we have been pretty busy lately. i still dont have the other half of our Yellowstone pics so that second post of pics will have to wait. just a few cool things that have happened lately, i scheduled my senior recital! its going to be December 3 and i will give more info in a later post. also, sam joined the opera! so not only are we both in choir together, now we are in the opera together! it is waay fun. more details on that to come soon too..

Last week there was a girl in my ward who was giving her General Relief Society meeting tickets away so i emailed her back quickly and got the tickets! Sarra and my friend Christa came with and it was fun to have a girl's night in slc! so these are a few pics from the evening. sorry they are kinda blurry; i took em on my phone...Inside the conference center, we had pretty good seats in the balcony:

Also, i am in a floral design class this semester and i love it!! here are a few pics from my first design. the assignment was a wrap bouquet with certain flowers we had to use but i picked the colors and filler flowers. afterwards, came home and took the flowers out of the wrap arrangment and put them in a vase. i think it turned out pretty good:

Motorcycle trip post #1

So the weekend after we got back from Cali and Vegas, we headed off again for one last hoorah before school started. This time it was up to Idaho and Yellowstone and the Tetons in Wyoming for a motorcycle trip that had been planned for a little while. Jeff and Michelle and Dan all flew up to Salt Lake and we met up with them to drive up to Idaho Falls. Sam drove his motorcycle up and his bros rented some from the Harley place once we got there to Idaho Falls. We stayed the night then Jeff, Michelle, Steve, Sarra, Dan, Sam and I took off on our ride! We drove up through Idaho and Montana then turned and started back down through Yellowstone in Wyoming.. That night we stayed in Jackson, Wyoming and the next morning we drove back up to see the Tetons then headed back to Idaho. it was an awesome trip! and soo fun! we saw so many animals in Yellowstone and so many amazing views throughout the entire trip! We actually forgot our camera in Provo but Jeff and Michelle shared theirs with us which was so nice! thanks guys! so right now i only have a few pics from the first day when we went through idaho and yellowstone. pics of the last part of the day and the Tetons from the second day are coming soon..
