Graduation Banquet

Every year, Sam's medical school throws a big banquet for the graduates and their spouses. This year it was held at a farm that is styled like an old carnival on the inside. They had lots of delicious appetizers and food, as well as some amazing donuts for dessert. We had so much fun visiting with old friends we haven't seen in a couple years, considering most everyone moved away from Harrogate for rotations. Seeing our med school friends just made us miss them even more! It was fun to catch up with everyone and be able to visit without extra distractions of extended family/ kids in the mix. Plus it was fun to have an excuse to dress up fancy. ;)
My studly date:

Miss these two people so much!! So glad we were able to hang out for this one evening before graduation.

We bought a house!

Moving right along on our CRAZY month of May, Sam's mom flew into town on the 8th(?) for graduation, and we hurried and drove down to sign on our FIRST HOUSE in Charlotte on May 10th. We bought a house!! AHH! These pictures are from our final walk through before the signing. It will most definitely need quite a bit of cleaning and a fresh coat of paint through the entire house but I am SO excited!!

Spring Voice Recital and Cantemus Concert

More from May! We had our final recital for my voice students and it was so wonderful! Ivy wanted to perform this time around so with some coaching and practice, she sang "A Bushel and a Peck." So proud of my baby girl! She really is fearless. It's so fun to see how much she loves performing. Also SO proud of m students who have all worked so hard and come so far this past year!! I included a couple pictures from my last concert with Cantemus on this post as well. I will miss my dear musical family I've made here in Kingsport so much! All these people mean so much to me!

Friends come to visit!

Adding more crazy to our crazy month, we welcomed our dear friends Jeff and Emily and their kids for a fun (and chilly!) weekend visit to our home! It was a quick visit for just a couple days, but the kids had a blast together and it was SO fun to visit with Jeff and Emily in the evenings. We can't wait until we move closer to their neck of the woods in the Carolinas! We took them to Roan Mountain for a little hike. Little did we know, it had just snowed on the mountain the day before and was still VERY chilly and windy at the top! We still managed to have a good time, though and everyone was glad to have seen the amazing views from the balds at the top! Until next time, Jeff and Emily!!!

Happy 10 Years!

May was a crazy month! So glad we were able to escape for a little lunch date for our 10 YEAR anniversary before all the craziness happened!! We didn't do anything too fancy because we just had our trip to Myrtle Beach and we were heading into all the graduation celebrations. We just had a low-key day with a delicious lunch date and a light dinner at home later on. I am still wrapping my brain around the fact that it has been a decade since we got married! No where else I would rather be in the entire world than sharing this amazing life with my best friend.
Just wanted to include my little instagram collage...

Ivy's school program

This first pic is a snapshot of having a "picnic lunch" with Ivy's class earlier in the day.. Later that evening, Ivy got to participate in her first school program! The whole first grade got together and learned some songs the past few months and some kids got speaking parts. I really had no clue how this whole "cats and dogs" show was going to go but it turned out SO cute!!! They did little hand motions to each song and it all had a good message about being friends, even with those who are different. Ivy had two different lines to speak into the microphone and she did awesome! Love this little doggie!
