My mom recently came up for a visit! She came for my birthday weekend and to watch the kids while Sam and I had a little weekend getaway. Sam had the day off the day my mom was supposed to fly into town, so we decided to take some time to stop at the Biltmore on the way home (she flew into Spartanburg)! It was so fun taking our time in each room and not have to worry about kids in tow! Mom hadn't ever been here before so it was a great experience for both of us! We even took some time to go down and see the gardens and greenhouse after the house! Flowers were in bloom! It was the perfect day for a tour. Glad we had some time to hang out before heading home to my kiddos!

More March stuff
Nothing like a competitive game of sorry with these hilarious two.
Ivy's idea of a beautiful outfit. All the prints:My March calendar. Yikes:
More hiking fun:
Random March snow dusting. It was sadly a very warm winter, this year. These kids took what they could get when it came to the snow, haha:
Shannon's birthday bash
Our good friend's Shannon and Mike threw a little shindig at their farm last month for Shannon's birthday. Beautiful Scenery, amazing food, awesome company. We had a blast, kids had a blast. It really was a win/win evening for everyone. Love this circle of friends we've made here in Tennessee!
Marshall couldn't get enough of the trains that would pass by their house:
Afternoon at the park
Things warmed up a little in March one Saturday so we took the kids to Ivy's school playground to play for a little while. Love my kiddos' big grins. Definitely took advantage of a nice sunny day.
Women in Song with Cantemus
Recently, Cantemus performed at a women's choral conference in the area called Women in Song. It was a great event! Five or six other women's groups from around the region performed, then we came together at the very end to do 2 songs altogether. It was a great experience to be a part of! Amazing to hear other groups work and so fun to sing with such a large group at the end! I really enjoyed this event. So grateful for Sam who watched the kids for me while I spent all Saturday afternoon and evening down in Johnson City for this! Best husband ever!

March 17th Match day and double date night!
March 17th was Match Day for finding out where we are going for Residency and we are SO happy to announce Sam matched with the Cabarrus Family Medicine program in Concord, NC! It is a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Looks like our little family is on to the next stage in life. He's really going to be a doctor! Haha.. Anyways, we are SO happy to be done with that stressful process. I haven't blogged much about it but there was a lot of emotion and stress poured into trying to find the right match list to submit. In the end, we are so happy with how everything turned out. Sam is VERY excited to work with amazing people at this program. I don't know much about Charlotte besides the fact that it's the home of the Carolina Panthers, but that's enough for me! LOL! Guess we better get house hunting!
As a celebration, we booked a babysitter in advance because we knew we'd want to go out on a date to celebrate that evening. Just so happened our good friends Sarah and Joel were able to find a babysitter and meet us for dinner. We sure are going to miss these two. They are keepers, for sure. Thanks for celebrating with us, guys!!

Sarah and Joel had to head home after dinner but Sam and I got tickets to see the new Beauty and the Beast afterwards. Great evening with my love celebrating this awesome life change ahead of us!
St. Patrick's Day!
Holidays are always so fun with the Mom's club! We had a St. Patrick's day brunch with our fun group and I think it's safe to say everyone had fun! Marshall always enjoys a good excuse to see his favorite buddies and I always have a good time with my mama friends!
My green mustached goofballs later that evening:
Olive Oil with Kingsport Medical Alliance
One weekday morning a couple weeks ago, I went with the women from the Kingsport Medical Alliance to the specialty olive oil place in downtown! I learned so much about the difference between all different olive oils and just how many different combinations there are for oil and flavored balsamic vinegars! It was SO fascinating and SO delicious trying all the different combinations! Also amazing how many health benefits come from increasing your olive oil intake. So interesting to hear about! It was a fun morning with some amazing women.
