Girl's weekend in Asheville

A few weeks ago, some close girlfriends and I found a good deal on a hotel room down in Asheville and decided it would be fun to get away overnight together! We did some good shopping on the way down there, went out for a delicious dinner that evening, then went to brunch the next morning before heading back home. Nothing too fancy but it was a fun escape for these mamas! To be able to eat a meal or two without interruptions was so wonderful. Love these girls so much! We really had SO much fun!

Biltmore with my loves

A couple weekends ago, we had a free day and wanted to do something fun in the area! We really aren't sure if we are sticking around here a few more years or are moving soon so we decided we better start on our bucket list! Ha! Anyways, found good deal on winter tickets so we decided to bite the bullet and go see the Biltmore as a family, finally! I was a little nervous how the kids would do on the tour but they actually were great! They thought it was a big fancy castle and thought it was pretty cool to be able to walk through. They got a little wiggly in a couple hallways where we'd have to wait in a short line of people, but I think overall, they did awesome! Afterwards, we walked around the grounds a bit and stopped for a treat in the cafe area. Then we walked down to the greenhouse, which was beautiful! Caught a few pictures, then went to the fields towards the back of the grounds to get in some good cartwheels (Ivy, hehe). All in all, it was a very successful trip! Hope the kids remember this one! 

Marshall swim lessons

I recently enrolled Marshall in swim lessons and the Y and he loves it! They are his first swim lessons ever and I think it will be good for him! I couldn't pick just one picture so you get 5 of this crazy kid. ;)

War Party 10k

My friend Bethany has been training for a half marathon this semester and wanted to do a 10k race here in town a few Saturdays ago. So I decided to jump on board and do it with her! I haven't been training very heavy but thought it would be fun. Ended up getting a personal best for a 10k! Woo! And it was a fairly small race so we both ended up placing in our age group. Go figure! Bethany was way faster than me, though. She's a rockstar! Anyways, it was a fun morning. Sam was a great sport and even brought the kids to cheer for me. Thanks for being my cheerleader, babe!

Valentine's Day

It was a pretty low-key Valentine's Day at our house this year. Both Marshall and I were trying to get over fun congestion colds so we just celebrated at home with chick-fil-a instead of actually going to the play place, lol. Ivy's class was having a party but I wasn't sure I could make it, considering Sam was at work. But he ended up getting off in time for me to head to the school! I was able to make it in time for the tail end of the party and Ivy was so happy! It was a cute little party. I was able to take her home, then taught some lessons that afternoon, then Sam and I enjoyed a yummy dinner, dessert, and piano playing after the kids were in bed. We're so fancy! Haha.
