Jacksonville, Florida!

Sam had to go down to Jacksonville to visit the Mayo Clinic one more time before deciding on a list for residency and wanted us to go with him. It was a few weeks ago on the first weekend of the month. We decided to make it a mini-vacay and dragged the kids down there for the weekend. We found a great deal on a little hotel right on the beach and the kids thought it was the coolest thing. The evening we got there was fairly chilly so we threw on our jackets, walked along the beach a bit, then finished off the evening at Mellow Mushroom for dinner. The next day was quite warmer, so we spent some time in the hotel pool, then headed out to the beach, then went to an early dinner and ended up walking along the beach again! Sunday morning, we dropped Sam off at the clinic super early, then I headed back to let the kids play on the beach one more time. They had the time of their lives in the sand the entire weekend! Didn't even care that it was cooler temps. They were just happy to be on the coast, as was I! It's been quite a while since I've been to such a nice beach. We definitely tried to make the most of it.

More from January

Some randoms from January... We've started implementing a "dessert night" once a week instead of every night! This girl is very sensitive to sugar and things had gotten fairly out of hand with sweets over the holidays so we decided to give this dessert night thing a try! This particular evening, we ended up with both cookies (for Marshall) and fudge for Ivy Lu. Cute helpers.

Nice morning run with this lady! I think it was 18 degrees when we started and only 25 at the end! Yeesh!
