Runnnnn!

I've been going every Saturday morning on a run with my girlfriends to help out friend Shannon train for a half this summer! We usually run on the greenbelt about 10 minutes from my house and the scenes are always beautiful! The last picture is of our shoes because all of us happened to buy new running shoes in the past few months so we were admiring our new kicks! ;) Love these girls!!

Memorial Day kayaking

Didn't get too many pictures of this day because we were too busy having fun! Well that, and I really didn't want my phone to fall into the lake so I kept it tucked away for most of our trip until we were on shore! LOL! We drove down to Watauga Lake, not too far from here to do a little kayaking across the water! Packed a lunch and paddles all the way across to the other shoreline and set up picnic! This lake is gorgeous!! The mountains are tall and the water is a green/blue color and fairly clear. Not too busy either! Kids didn't do much swimming because there wasn't really any access to the water but they still had fun throwing things into the lake! And paddling in the kayaks!

BBQ fun with friends

We got together with our friends over Memorial Day weekend for a BBQ and to let the kids play! Love that the weather is finally getting a little warmer. Took long enough! Anyways, nothing too fancy-- just good food, nice weather, and a great time with some of our favorite people! 

Blackbird bakery

Dad finally had a morning off from work so we took the time to drive out to Blackbird Bakery in Bristol to get some donuts (and kolaches!). Ivy had the blueberry donut and Marshall picked the chocolate donut (not surprising, my chocoholic, lol). Then we took a stroll around downtown Bristol since neither of us had been there before! One side of the street is Tennessee and the other is Virginia! Split right down the middle. Fun little town! 

Public Works Rodeo

A couple weeks ago, Kingsport Public Works was holding a touch-a-truck event near the farmer's market in town one morning so the kids and I checked it out along with a few of our friends! Ivy and Marshall both got to drive and excavator and Ivy got to drive a handful of other machines while Marshall was content to just stick to his stroller the rest of the time. haha! We finished off with some fun goodies from the water and sanitation workers (beach balls and water bottles) and had some fun in a little sand box they made up with cars. Fun morning!

Pre-k Graduation Party

The last week of school, we got together with some good friends of ours to throw a Preschool Graduation/Welcome to Kindergarten party for our 4 kiddos who were going into Kindergarten the next year! My friend came up with the idea and it turned out to be so cute and way too much fun! BBQ dinner, cookie cake, and balloon fight were the highlights of the evening! AND of course, great company. We love these awesome friends of ours! Thanks Shannon for hosting this fun evening!
