Sam's training and Xterra Thrill tail marathon

Here are a couple pics from Sam's running this past wintertime.. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say nothing will stop him-- not even a snowstorm or freezing temperatures in the teens! He's crazy! Luckily it was a little warmer for his trail marathon near Atlanta that he (and his buddy Jason) did a few weekends ago.. And all his training paid off because he did awesome! He even got 3rd in his age group! Way to go Sam!! You continue to amaze me with your abilities and determination.

3rd place in 25-29 age group! Woo!!

Next race on the docket is a 50 miler in Alabama at the end of this month with Neal!

Valentine's Day

Just a few pics from our Valentine's day celebrations. Lovely flowers from my amazing husband and then some pics of Ivy's library group party. The party was actually a week later because we all got snowed in on the Thursday before Valentine's day (see previous post). They exchanged Valentines, had some treats, and played with a gigantic parachute. Ivy thought it was pretty awesome. Super fun day!

Later on, Sam and I left Ivy with a babysitter and went out for a good dinner and dessert together. It was nice to spend an evening with my two favorite boys. :)

Also, Just wanted to include a few pics of when Ivy and daddy spent the weekend together while I was in Birmingham... They hiked the tri-state peak together with a few of Sam's friends. So fun!

Snow Day

We've had a pretty good amount of snow this season but last week, the day before Valentine's day, we got quite the storm. In one night, it dumped a good 7 inches! We usually just get a couple inches each time. We just had to take advantage of Sam's school being canceled and enjoy playing in the snow! Ivy was soo excited. Marshall napped through the first part of our morning, then I brought him out all bundled up just for a few minutes. He wasn't too sure what to think of all the snow, and the cold, lol.. Anyways, I know there are a lot of pics, but just had to get out and practice with our new lens that we got not too long ago..

Marshall at 2 months

Marshall was 11 weeks old this past Tuesday. Turned 2 months a couple weeks ago. At his 2 month checkup, he weighed in at 11 lb 13 oz, and was 22.5 inches long! Can't believe he's grown an inch and a half in a month! So crazy how fast they grow!

This past month Marshall's little personality has really started to show. He's so smiley these days and especially loves to watch his mama or daddy smile at him. He has a little dimple up near his eye that is just the cutest little feature. He talks and coos all the time, especially when you are talking directly to him. He just loves to have a full out conversation with whoever is holding him. It's the cutest thing.

For the most part, he still falls asleep pretty easily for naps. Usually only needs to be bounced for a minute or two before I put him in his bed. He prefers his bed these days instead of napping in the bouncer out in our living room. I think he started to realize how noisy his big sister can be sometimes, and prefers his peace and quiet. hehe..

 Nursing is still going great. There are some days here and there when I can tell that either my milk is lower or he is going through a growth spurt and wants more than normal. But other than that, it has been very smooth. And he's a pretty good sleeper for the most part, still gives me a good 5 hour chunk at night at some point.

This kid hates tummy time. I don't remember Ivy hating it nearly as much as he does. However, he loves to be upright to look around and can hold his head up pretty steadily, and therefore loves the bumbo. It's interesting to me how my babies are so different.. Ivy was practically rolling over by this age but she was not a big fan of the bumbo. Whereas, Marshall will happily sit in that bumbo for a while, but he's not even close to rolling over, lol.. Ivy was such a mover but Marshall is just content to sit and chill most of the time. Amazing how different their personalities are so early on.

Speaking of Ivy, she grows to love her brother more each day. Every morning she wakes up more and more excited to see him. She loves to sit by him, show him her toys, books, and ipad, and enjoys giving him "checkups" (thank you Doc Mcstuffins, lol). She even asks to hold him a few times a day, it just melts my heart. I feel very lucky to have such a caring little girl. She loves to help mommy with throwing away his diapers, helping to give him a bath, etc. I just love my babies! And can't believe Ivy is not really a baby anymore. She's almost 3!
